During an interview on Yuri Romanenko's channel, military analyst Alexey Arestovich expressed his opinion on how to prevent a second major war in Europe.
"Somewhere in the future, the West faces a global confrontation with China. Western decisions are based on this. The central question here is whether Russia will try to take advantage of the opportunity while the United States is distracted in Southeast Asia. Will they seize the chance for a second major war in Europe, in which I am 101% certain they will pose a threat to other European countries and NATO? They tried this with Ukraine, and they will try it again.
Now the answer to this question is as follows: no matter how much you prepare, it is much better to prevent it. The best way to prevent it is to allow the Ukrainian Armed Forces to defeat the Russian Federation militarily. To push back this scenario by 10-15 years. Or, in simple terms, when everything starts in Asia, if it does, Russia still cannot attack Europe. And we need to achieve this.
Whether Europeans understand this is a big question. We explain that a time buffer is very important. To achieve this, the pace of Russia's recovery must be very slow, so that it slowly regains its combat capability, and this means sanctions, more sanctions. It is also necessary to undermine their military power so that they cannot use this tool for another 15 years. Accordingly, we need to strengthen ourselves (Ukraine) and Poland as the eastern shield. In general, the concept of the 'two fangs' is what Americans and Europeans should be thinking about right now.
A simple calculation: 350,000 armed with modern weapons in the Polish armed forces and 350,000 armed with Western weapons in the regular Ukrainian armed forces - this is a 700,000-strong group, an eastern wall, closing Europe off from Russia. In my opinion, any sensible politician should be interested in creating such a 'wall'."
