The activity of Russian infantry on the Tavria front has once again increased, particularly in Avdiivka, where heavy fighting is taking place.
The spokesperson for the Tavria front, Olexander Shtupun, shared this information during a TV marathon.
"In the area of responsibility of the Ukrainian Joint Forces in Tavria, including the Avdiivka direction, the activity of occupant infantry has increased compared to the previous day. There were a total of 55 combat clashes. The enemy suffered 440 casualties, the majority of them in the Avdiivka and Maryinka areas," said Shtupun.
At the same time, according to the spokesperson, the activity of enemy aviation has decreased. Five airstrikes were recorded in a day.
On the night of December 3, occupiers dropped guided aerial bombs in the Donetsk region.
Shtupun emphasized that battles are ongoing in the Marinka and Novomykhailivka areas. The occupant's claim of advancement in Marinka does not correspond to reality.
According to Vitaliy Barabash, the head of the Avdiivka Municipal Civil-Military Administration, the Avdiivka area is experiencing the third wave of Russian assaults. The most challenging directions remain the areas of Stepove, coking plant, and the Avdiivka industrial zone. In his opinion, Russian forces are awaiting improved weather conditions to reintroduce equipment for attacks.
