In August, at least 12 Russian Shahed-type kamikaze drones entered Belarusian airspace, with only one being shot down.
This is reported by the monitoring group Belarusian Hajun.
According to the group, Russian drones crossed the Belarusian border on August 21, 26, 27, 29, and 31. In several of these cases, the country’s air force scrambled fighters to intercept them.
Additionally, on the night of August 29, a Belarusian fighter jet, for the first time in monitoring history, shot down a Shahed drone over Belarus. This occurred around 03:55 in the Yelsk district of the Gomel region.
‘What happened to the other 11 drones that entered Belarus is unknown,’ the report states.
Belarusian Hajun notes that there are currently no reasons to believe that violations of Belarusian airspace by Russian Shahed-136/131 drones will cease in the near future.
