The intelligence community of the Ministry of Defense of the United Kingdom has discovered another confirmation of increased military censorship in Russia.

This information is detailed in their Sunday review.

As per the British intelligence report, the Russian Ministry of Education, according to certain reports, in mid-October instructed universities to avoid open discussions of any "negative political, economic, and social trends" in Russia during their academic and educational activities.

"This constitutes a further restriction of the information space in wartime Russia, making it more difficult to openly discuss policy issues." stated in the review.

The British intelligence believes that in the long term, this step will continue the trend of shaping Russia's policy within an echo chamber, fostering "politically acceptable, pro-Kremlin views."

"It is highly likely that the Kremlin wishes to further suppress negative perspectives on the ‘special military operation’ in the run up to President Vladimir Putin’s anticipated bid for re-election in March 2024" written in the summary provided in the review.
