Russia continues to coerce conscripts into signing contracts in the army. This helps Russia replenish its troops to wage war against Ukraine.

This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defense on X (Twitter).

British intelligence reminded that the autumn draft will begin in Russia on October 1. Russian men up to 30 years of age are required to serve one year in the army.

Russia claims that conscripts are not being sent to the war in Ukraine. However, in August 2024, conscripts were involved in a military operation in Kursk.

The parents of some soldiers have expressed concern that their sons were sent to fight after having served less than four months. According to Russian law, conscripts can be deployed to combat zones if they have served for four months and have undergone training in the appropriate specialty.

British intelligence believes that the reaction of conscripts' families to their deployment for Russia's defense increases concerns among Russian leaders about sending conscripts to Ukraine.
