British intelligence analyzed Russian drone attacks on Ukrainian territory in December 2024 and noted certain changes.

This information is included in the UK Ministry of Defence's January 13 briefing on the Russia-Ukraine war.

British intelligence reported that in December 2024, Russia launched approximately 1,700 attack drones of various types against Ukrainian regions.

This figure is lower than in November, when 2,300 drones were deployed. This marks the first decline in the number of drone launches since March-April 2024.

The report suggests that weather conditions likely impacted operations at the beginning of the month, as evidenced by several nights of waves exceeding 100 drones following periods of particularly low or no activity.

Ukraine’s Air Force stated that 53% of the Russian drones were shot down, while others were neutralized by electronic warfare or veered off course, causing no significant threat.

“Various factors can impact the monthly launch rates posotively or negatively, however it remains likely that Russia can sustain numbers in excess of at least 1,500 per month,” British intelligence concluded.
