Russian forces on the Kharkiv front are actively using munitions and personnel recruited from North Korea. However, the quality of North Korean weapons is causing serious issues, which are already significantly affecting their combat capability.
This was stated by Officer Volodymyr Chernyak of the 4th Rapid Reaction Brigade "Rubizh", in a broadcast on the national telethon.
According to him, the munitions Russia received from North Korea often explode in the barrel's channel or immediately after firing, resulting in significant losses of artillery equipment.
He added that radio intercepts confirm numerous complaints from the Russian forces regarding these malfunctions.
Chernyak outlined key problems faced by the Russian forces:
- Poor-quality weapons: North Korean shells are inaccurate and often cause artillery systems to break down.
- High casualties among North Korean soldiers: According to Chernyak, North Korean soldiers used as infantry suffer heavy losses on the battlefield.
- Widespread use of FPV drones: The Russian troops continue to use FPV drones, which create significant difficulties for the defense of Ukrainian positions.
Chernyak noted that the Russians mainly use drones for assaults.
He mentioned that up to 50 FPV drones may target a single Ukrainian position in one day, making it dangerous for soldiers to even leave their bunkers at times.
