According to available data, this disinformation was allegedly employed by Russia, to cover up its operation to rescue the Syrian leader and a select group of close associates.
The loss of signal from Assad's plane on radar is likely linked to the crew's actions, who were reportedly following Russian instructions and flying under their guidance.
Meanwhile, the position of the Russian military presence in Syria remains increasingly precarious and dire. Remnants of the aggressor state's military continue to hastily pack up and flee by both sea and air.
The first to leave were high-ranking members of the Russian army. Following the failure of General Sergey Kiselyov, the newly appointed commander of Russia's military grouping in Syria, General Alexander Chaiko, also withdrew from the region after only a week in command.
To evacuate their remaining weaponry, military equipment, and personnel, Russia has deployed additional ships, including vessels from the Baltic Fleet.
