The terrorist state is creating tension around Moldova and unrecognized Transnistria, pursuing two goals. To divert the world's attention from the war in Ukraine and demonstrate some "victory" for the Russian people.
Andrii Chernyak, the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, reported this in a comment to RBC-Ukraine.
"In Transnistria, the Russians have a very limited contingent. There are warehouses that they guard. But not in those warehouses; almost nothing is left, and what is left is old and unusable. And in Moldova, they are still trying to use politics to shake up the situation - under a "foreign flag", Chernyak noted.
A representative of Ukraine's military intelligence recalled that the Russians staged provocations in Donetsk and Luhansk based on such a scenario.
"By creating tension in Moldova, Russia sets two goals for itself. The first is an attempt to distract the European public from the events taking place in Ukraine. They see that all attention is focused on Ukraine, including in the sense of aid. Therefore, they are trying to incite a new fire in Europe," Andrii Chernyak explained.
Secondly, according to him, it is aimed at the domestic consumer in Russia.
"After all, they did not achieve any results in their so-called "special military operation". Therefore, they need to demonstrate any "victories" for their population. Now they are trying to make some kind of revolution to create an illusion as "peace for them", "the people "Moldova is for us," concluded Andrii Chernyak.
