Around 150,000 Russian soldiers are engaged in offensive operations along three tactical fronts—Pokrovsk, Kurakhiv, and Vremivka.
Nazar Voloshyn, the spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group, shared this during a television broadcast.
"This amounts to approximately 150,000 personnel overall. Specifically, over 70,000 on the Pokrovsk front, around 35-36,000 on the Kurakhiv front, and more than 40,000 on the Vremivka front," Voloshyn emphasized.
On the Kurakhiv front alone, there were 40 assaults in the past day.
"Our Defense Forces are holding the Russian back on the Kurakhiv front. Over the past day, there were 40 assaults where the enemy attempted to breach Ukrainian defensive lines. The enemy seeks to straighten their defensive front, allowing them to regroup and redeploy units for recovery, followed by intensified offensive actions," Voloshyn explained.
On the Pokrovsk front, Ukrainian defenders repelled 51 attacks. The adversary is also trying to push towards the outskirts of Kurakhove to establish fire control and seize the area.
"The Russian army is targeting the city of Kurakhove with intense shelling, using both guided aerial bombs and artillery. However, the Defense Forces are effectively containing the enemy’s offensive actions and inflicting losses in personnel and equipment. The city remains under our control, and enemy reconnaissance and sabotage groups are swiftly neutralized," Voloshyn added.
Regarding the situation near Velyka Novosilka and Vuhledar, Voloshyn noted increased Russian activity over the past two days, with 27 engagements occurring in the last day.
"The enemy has recently intensified efforts, especially over the last two days. Ukrainian forces have stabilized the situation and are depleting the enemy's offensive potential. For the Russians, this sector in the northwest is a priority as part of their Pokrovsk and Kurakhiv offensives. The recapture of the village of Novyi Komar by our Defense Forces has improved our tactical position, which the enemy is attempting to disrupt," Voloshyn noted.
The Russian troops are employing small assault groups using lightly armored and unarmored vehicles, motorcycles, and all-terrain vehicles.
In the Kupiansk sector, Ukrainian defenders repelled seven assaults over the past day. The Russian forces also repeatedly attempted to cross the Oskil River.
"There have been repeated attempts by the enemy to cross the Oskil River using various floating devices, including inflatable boats. These attempts are promptly thwarted by our Defense Forces. Any enemy forces that manage to disembark are located and neutralized using various means, including FPV drones," Voloshyn stated.
Effective countermeasures include preemptive strikes on personnel and equipment before they approach Ukrainian positions. Around 30% of Russian equipment is destroyed using minefields. Artillery and missile strikes, as well as the use of unmanned systems, have also proven highly effective.
Voloshyn highlighted the Russia’s losses, which amounted to over 8,000 personnel in the past week and about 1,000 in the last day alone.
