On the night of January 29, Russian army once again attacked the territory of Ukraine using kamikaze drones and ballistic missiles. Some "Shahed" drones reached the western borders of the country.
This was reported by the spokesperson of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuriy Ignat, during a telethon. According to Ignat, there has been a kind of "calm" in Russian aviation over the past few days.
"This is associated with various factors - according to the enemy's tasks, and the activity of aviation depends on weather conditions. However, tonight the enemy still resorted to attacks," Ignat said.
This night, Russia launched eight "Shahed" drones and four missiles at Ukraine.
The spokesperson noted that if you compare the reports of the Air Force today and yesterday, January 28, they are practically identical in terms of the use of air attack means.
"There were also 8 Shahed attack drones, 3 S-300 missiles, and one Iskander-M missile, not two, as it was yesterday. The directions of the S-300 attacks are also in Donetsk, and Iskander-M - in Poltava, including the Kremenchuk district. Local authorities talk about which enterprise the enemy usually tries to attack there," Ignat explained.
He compared that last night, the occupiers also used eight kamikaze drones, but only four were successfully shot down. This is explained by the fact that the occupiers targeted them precisely along the near-front zone - essentially along the defense line.
"Today, the geography of the Shahed drones was larger - some units reached the western borders of our state. But ultimately, all were destroyed in the areas that we have already reported. These are Mykolaiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, and Khmelnytskyi regions," added the spokesperson for the Air Force.
