On Thursday, July 25, during his visit to China, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba visited the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The Foreign Minister met with the Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR, John Lee.

The parties discussed creating new opportunities for trade and investment between Ukraine and Hong Kong in the context of Ukraine's recovery.

Dmytro Kuleba also urged the Hong Kong Administration to take measures to prevent Russia and Russian companies from using Hong Kong to bypass sanctions imposed due to Russia’s aggression against Ukraine.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister emphasized that these sanctions are necessary to weaken Russia's ability to wage war and kill people in Ukraine. He underscored that Russian manipulations should not tarnish Hong Kong's reputation as a highly developed liberal economy based on unwavering respect for the rule of law.

Dmytro Kuleba also discussed with his counterpart the issue of protecting the rights of Ukrainian citizens in Hong Kong.

During the visit, the Minister held a separate meeting with representatives of the Hong Kong business community, where they discussed the prospects for interaction with Ukrainian companies and investments, particularly in the context of Ukraine's recovery and reconstruction.
