Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets reported another Russian crime – the brutal public execution of an unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war.
Lubinets stated that the Russians executed the unarmed Ukrainian prisoner of war with his hands taped together using a sword.
"The level of barbarity and bloodthirstiness is beyond comprehension."
He emphasized that such actions are a blatant violation of the Geneva Convention on the treatment of prisoners of war.
Lubinets also mentioned that he has sent letters to international organizations, including the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and the United Nations (UN), to document yet another human rights violation by Russia.
On the morning of September 17, a photo of the executed Ukrainian soldier appeared on social media. The soldier was stabbed with a sword that had the inscription "For Kursk."
The photo shows the bloodied body lying on a road with damaged equipment and a building with shattered windows in the background. The exact location of the incident is unknown.
