Ukrainian drones launched a series of strikes overnight on Russian territory, hitting an oil refinery, a military unit, and two other strategic sites.
Local residents in the Afipsky settlement reported hearing explosions early in the morning, followed by a large fire and smoke rising from the Afipsky oil refinery. Footage shared on the Telegram channel Exilenova captured the scene. Preliminary information indicates that the refinery’s primary oil processing unit caught fire in the attack.
This marks the fourth successful strike on the Afipsky refinery. In December 2023, a previous attack severely damaged one of the refinery’s fuel oil distillation units, causing significant fires and operational disruptions.
The Kuban operational headquarters confirmed that a technological unit used for joint processing of gas and gas condensate caught fire, covering an area of approximately 250 square meters. The blaze was extinguished by 8:20 a.m. local time.
The Afipsky refinery is a key facility supplying diesel fuel to both the Russian economy and military, with an annual processing capacity estimated at 6 to 7 million tons of oil.
In addition, Governor Veniamin Kondratyev reported that in the Krasnoarmeysky district of Kuban, “small fires after the fall of drone debris” were observed, though no injuries were reported.
These attacks highlight ongoing Ukrainian efforts to disrupt critical Russian infrastructure deep inside Russian territory.
