On January 16, President Alexander Stubb approved a new defense aid package for Ukraine valued at approximately €98 million, the Finnish Ministry of Defence reported.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, Finland has provided Ukraine with around €3.1 billion in defense assistance.
Finnish Minister of Defence Antti Häkkänen said the latest package was prepared rapidly to address Ukraine’s most urgent needs.
“Finland continues to support Ukraine with defense materials, as this is the most effective way to contribute to achieving a just peace,” he emphasized.
Häkkänen also noted that Finland’s program of defense-industrial purchases to support Ukraine will continue throughout 2026.
For operational reasons and to ensure the safe delivery of aid, the Ministry of Defence did not disclose details about the contents of the package, its delivery methods, or schedule.
