The State Secretary of Defense of Germany, Siemtje Möller, has stated that this year, similar to the previous one, the Bundeswehr plans to conduct training for an additional 10,000 members of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
This information is reported by RP Online.
The training will take place within the framework of the European Training Mission EUMAM.
The German official emphasized in Brussels on Wednesday, January 31, that Germany continues to be firm in its support for Ukraine, which is resisting widespread military aggression from Russia.
Currently, approximately 40,000 Ukrainian military personnel have already undergone training in European countries as part of the EUMAM mission. This decision was made by the foreign ministers of participating countries in November 2022.
Initially, the plan was for up to 15,000 Ukrainian soldiers to undergo training in Germany, Poland, and other EU countries. Later, the goal was increased to 30,000 and then to 40,000. The Bundeswehr has already trained approximately 10,000 Ukrainian military personnel.
