Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has proposed an initiative to support the reconstruction of Ukraine, including the restoration of Odessa’s port infrastructure and the development of transport and logistics corridors in the Southeast European region.

President Volodymyr Zelensky shared the news on Facebook following his conversation with the Greek leader.

“We agreed that our teams will work on its implementation,” Zelensky noted.

The two leaders also discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense capabilities. Zelensky emphasized the urgency of this issue, especially amid intensified Russian strikes on Ukrainian cities.

He also informed Mitsotakis about a new mechanism Ukraine is implementing with NATO member states to jointly procure U.S. weapons.

“The contribution of each country can genuinely make our defenders stronger,” Zelensky said.

The president thanked Greece for its strong support of Ukraine and its willingness to do even more.
