The Icelandic government has announced its decision to allocate 2 million euros for the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine.
According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bjarni Benediktsson, the policy to support Ukraine, currently pending before the Icelandic parliament, reflects a commitment to long-term support. Additionally, the parliament is prepared to endorse initiatives of this nature:
"It is crucial that we continue to steadfastly support Ukraine, thereby contributing not only to the protection of the country's people but also to international law in a broader context and our own security interests."
Furthermore, Iceland will support the procurement of equipment for women in the Ukrainian army. To meet the needs of female servicemembers, provision is proposed for uniforms, body armor, medical, and hygiene supplies totaling 75 million Icelandic krona.
