On the morning of June 12, bodies of workers were discovered at a facility in Kharkiv that suffered a massive strike on June 7.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in Kharkiv region.
"Today, June 12, during the debris clearance at the enterprise in the Kyiv district of Kharkiv city, the body of a fourth deceased person was found. Efforts are underway to recover it. Search operations continue," rescuers reported at 9:30 a.m.
Half an hour later, the department informed that the body of a fifth victim had been found.
At the same time, the Kharkiv regional prosecutor's office announced the extraction of both bodies. The deceased are men.
"Rescuers have just recovered the body of the fifth person from under the rubble of a civilian enterprise in the Kyiv district. Search efforts for another missing employee continue," the statement said.
Thus, the death toll from the large-scale combined Russian attack on June 7, which occurred from 3:00 to 5:00 a.m., has risen to 8 people (three of whom died in residential buildings).
On the night of June 7, Russian forces carried out one of the largest attacks on Kharkiv, with nearly 60 explosions heard in the city. The Kyiv and Osnoviansky districts were targeted. Hits were recorded on a civilian enterprise, a multi-apartment building, and private homes. There was information that six workers were trapped in the basement of the struck enterprise. The facility was attacked with drones, guided bombs, and missiles. The State Emergency Service reported that the building is "severely damaged and destroyed," with the entire structure in an emergency state, and unpredictable collapses continue to occur.
By the evening of June 11, rescuers had managed to recover three bodies. These were women aged 46, 48, and 50.
