In Kharkiv, the search is underway for the body of an infant who perished in the attack by Russian drones. The infant, along with their parents and two siblings, perished in the fire.
This was reported by the Chief of the Investigative Department of the National Police Main Directorate in the Kharkiv region, Serhiy Bolvinov, on Facebook.
"Russia deliberately killed three children in Kharkiv last night. So far, there are 7 dead and 3 injured. Five bodies were found in one house. A family. Burned alive. We are currently identifying all the victims. Preliminarily, among the deceased are children aged 4, 7, and an infant. We don't know the whereabouts of the infant's body yet. Search operations are ongoing," wrote Bolvinov.
According to him, investigators determined that after the shelling, there was a fuel leak, which mixed with snow and spread down the street. The fire broke out in 15 buildings. The family became hostages of the fire inside their own house. The body of the man was found in the corridor of the house, while the mother with the children attempted to seek refuge in the bathroom.
The body of the baby, presumed to be deceased, is still being sought.
Bolvinov noted that law enforcement officials have contacted the relatives of the deceased family to collect DNA samples for identification purposes.
