In the village of Kolonshchyna in Kyiv region, the second phase of the "Hansen Miracle Villages" for elderly internally displaced persons (IDPs) will be built, where up to 200 people can be accommodated. The town is a complex of individual residential houses and infrastructure facilities.
This was announced by the head of the Kyiv Regional State Administration, Ruslan Kravchenko.
The first phase was opened in the fall of 2023, and 105 families already reside in the complex. These families comprise 160 individuals aged between 65 and 100, originating from Donetsk, Kherson, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Sumy, and Kharkiv regions. The homes are modern and comfortable, renovated and fully furnished, equipped with plumbing, household appliances, air conditioners, kitchenware, textiles, and more. Each dwelling has access to its own terrace.
Families have their own small garden. And in the future, they plan to keep chickens and goats. Unfortunately, most of these families will not be able to return home. They may live in the Miracle Town permanently. In total, homes will be built for another 115 families.
This is not Mr. Hansen's only project aimed at supporting internally displaced persons. The state allocates significant funding for their needs, but it is still not enough to provide for everyone. Therefore, he is grateful to donors who contribute to this work.
The projects implemented by Dell Loy Hansen in Ukraine are an example of cooperation between private business and government at all levels. Because our common task is to support those who are most in need and restore people's faith in the future.
