The Russian army attacked Odessa with combat drones overnight. As a result, six people were injured, according to the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine.
"The enemy attacked the southern regions with two waves of UAVs of the 'Shahed-131/136' type. The main impact was concentrated in Odessa, where 6 people were injured," the military reported.
It is noted that the combat operation was conducted in conditions of heavy air defense against simultaneous attacks by several drones.
"Anti-aircraft defense forces managed to shoot down 11 kamikaze drones: 10 in the Odessa region, 1 in the Mykolaiv region," noted the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine. They added that the enemy employed experimental tactical tricks, entering from the sea at low altitudes and engaging in complex maneuvers.
The downed drones followed inertial trajectories and reached residential neighborhoods. One of them, hitting a partially inhabited multi-story building in the Hadjibey district of Odessa, caused a fire. Several apartments were damaged, and one person suffered burns and was hospitalized.
"Another affected drone, in its fall, pierced the roof of a two-story residential building in the Primorsky district of the city. In the same residential quarter, another UAV fell, near the damaged multi-story building from the previous attack. Four people were injured. Rescuers successfully freed one of the victims from the rubble," reported the authorities.
Unfortunately, some impacts could not be avoided as the Russians targeted a warehouse of a furniture factory in the industrial area of Odessa. A powerful fire erupted, and one person was injured.
