In Poltava, the number of casualties from the Russian strike has risen to 54

The number of victims in Poltava has risen to 54 following the Russian strike on September 3. There may still be people trapped under the rubble.

According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine.

"The number of fatalities has increased to 54 as a result of the Russian attack on an educational institution in Poltava. Another 297 people have been injured."

 

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine stated that search and rescue operations are ongoing with safety considerations in mind.

"It is possible that up to 5 more people may be trapped under the rubble. So far, 1,760 tons of construction debris have been cleared and removed," the rescuers added.

Russian forces attacked Poltava on September 3, using ballistic missiles. The strike partially destroyed one of the buildings at the Institute of Communications in Poltava.
