Russian forces continue to storm the positions of the Ukrainian Defense Forces in the south, Dmitry Pletenchuk, the chief of the Center for Strategic Communications of the Defense Forces of the South, said in a telethon broadcast.
"The situation over the past day is better than in the previous days. The number of assaults has decreased, and there are no losses of positions. The enemy again attempted to storm Staromayorskoye, there were 12 attempts. And four attempts were made in Krynky. This morning, they intensified their efforts at all three of our locations - Staromayorskoye, Krynky, and Rabotyne. There was one assault at each location this morning. There are no losses of positions," Pletenchuk said.
When asked if Russia is trying to regain control of Nestriga Island in the Kherson region, Pletenchuk replied:
"We haven't seen such attempts in the last two days. Yesterday they focused on the Kherson direction, specifically in Krynky."
He also spoke about the losses suffered by the enemy in southern Ukraine:
"Yesterday, there was an interesting detail: the total number of losses for the Russians was the same as in the previous days, over 150. But the ratio of irretrievable losses increased by one and a half times. In other words, the intensity of the fighting was higher, although the number of assaults was lower."
