Ukrainian experts have developed the reconnaissance drone Gor to meet the needs of the Defense Forces. The first prototype of this UAV took to the skies in May of last year, as reported by the ArmyInform.
The development of the domestic reconnaissance drone was announced by the head of the Ukrainian manufacturing company, Airlogix.
"The first models were sent to the front for feedback in August 2022. The feedback from the military was initially so-so. But step by step, we eliminated the shortcomings. We transitioned from foam to composite materials. And later, we reached the current appearance of the Gorâ UAV... We modified the drone's internals – communication, GPS receiver. In addition, we equipped it with powerful optics – one of the top cameras available now," recalls Vitaliy, the head of the company. The manufacturer then tested the drone under the influence of electronic warfare (EW) measures.
"We looked at how everything was working fine, that we could operate: during the EW tests, our systems couldn't be suppressed. This was already in December 2022," Vitaliy explains.
According to the company's head, after undergoing additional tests, the "Hor" drone was approved for use in the Armed Forces.
"The military personnel who operate our Gor on the front lines report that they've conducted over 70 combat sorties for artillery adjustment on a single platform. 30 of these were within two weeks. Enemy EW doesn't hinder it. If any malfunctions occur, the guys send the drone to us, we repair it and send it back," notes the head of the manufacturing company.
The Gor drone was developed by the Ukrainian startup Airlogix. It is designed for reconnaissance and artillery correction. The UAV can remain in the air for 2 to 2.5 hours, with a flight range of 150 km. Communication and control of the drone are maintained at a distance of 30-40 km. The drone operates at altitudes of up to 3500 meters. The system includes three drones and a control station
