At the ship repair plant of PJSC Ukrainian Danube Shipping Company, they want to create a modern industrial park called Kiliya. The park's presentation is scheduled for the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2024) in Berlin.
This was announced by the company's CEO, Dmytro Moskalenko.
He noted that currently, the UDP plant in Kiliya is perhaps the only one in the country continuing repairs and construction of the fleet. Therefore, in his opinion, it is the only option for creating a shipbuilding base on a national scale.
"The plant is located 47 kilometers from the Black Sea. We have equipment, an experienced team of over 300 specialists, our own water area, infrastructure, and the ability to accommodate new productions (out of 19 hectares of the plant's territory, we only use 9 hectares)," Moskalenko wrote.
He also added that there are already several proposals from foreign companies regarding locating joint production in Kiliya. Shipbuilders from Baltic countries could become the first residents of the "Kiliya" industrial park.
