As of July 12, Ukraine has accumulated 9.7 billion cubic meters of natural gas in its underground storage facilities, announced Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, on Facebook.
"We have already injected over 9.7 billion cubic meters of gas into underground storage facilities. The plan is to accumulate over 13.1 billion cubic meters by the start of cold weather," Chernyshov wrote.
He noted that the reserves will soon increase to 10 billion cubic meters.
"This will be the second consecutive winter that we will go through exclusively using gas from Ukrainian production. We are working persistently to drill new wells and increase extraction," Chernyshov added.
As reported, from January to June 2024, compared to the same period in 2023, companies of the Naftogaz Group increased gas production by 8%, reaching 7.3 billion cubic meters.
