The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe plans to invest $120 million by 2032 in modernizing its railway product manufacturing facilities. The company presented this investment program at the Ukraine Recovery Conference 2025 held in Rome, according to a press release.

The program includes several key projects: construction of a new heat treatment line, expansion of wheel and axle finishing capacities, and modernization of production workshop infrastructure. These measures aim to strengthen the company’s export potential and develop high-tech production.

Vitaliy Sueta, the company’s Director of Products and Resources, noted that Interpipe’s long-term strategy envisions increasing its market share in passenger wheels.

“Having strong positions in the freight segment, this investment program will allow Interpipe to expand its product portfolio. In the passenger segment, each train has a unique wheel design, which may require developing a separate manufacturing process,” he emphasized.

An important part of the modernization is the environmental aspect: each project includes reducing CO2 emissions and improving energy efficiency.

“We are strengthening our export positions by reaching a completely new level of quality,” Sueta added.

Previously, it was noted that Interpipe intends to deepen cooperation with national railway operators of European countries—specifically Renfe (Spain), SNCF (France), Trenitalia (Italy)—and complete certification with leading rolling stock corporations: Siemens, Alstom, and Stadler.
