The information provided by Viktor Medvedchuk on the purchase of coal in the so-called L / DPR in 2014-2015 and the withdrawal of part of the Samara-Western direction oil pipeline from state to private ownership confirms all the evidence gathered by the Security Service of Ukraine.

The head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov, spoke about this on the air of the national telethon.

"In our opinion, Medvedchuk confirms the evidence and versions collected by the Security Service, based on which both Mr. Medvedchuk and Mr. Poroshenko were previously suspected. Namely in treason and terrorist financing. He talks about all the details and diagrams. Therefore, we are confidently moving forward in investigating these extremely high-profile cases. And bring them to a logical conclusion. Because the law must work regardless of names and circumstances," Ivan Bakanov stressed.

He stressed that each of the cases is at different stages of the investigation, and the collection and analysis of evidence, which began long before the war, continues.

"We are moving consistently, but the court must end it. It doesn't matter how long ago these events took place - every participant should be held accountable by law," the SBU Chairman said.

In particular, the court will soon consider a case of subversive activities within the anti-Ukrainian project "Ray", which involves V. Medvedchuk.

As for the "coal" and "pipe" cases, Medvedchuk confirms the key role of Petro Poroshenko in them.

"He confirms that former President Poroshenko used Medvedchuk's ties with the Russian leadership to organize certain business schemes. And they, according to the SBU, were definitely not in the interests of Ukraine. On the contrary, the economy and security of the state have suffered direct losses. And this was facilitated by various high-ranking officials: based on Mr. Medvedchuk's testimony, from ministers to the head of the National Bank," the SBU Chairman said.

Such actions have significantly increased Russia's influence on Ukraine's economy.

"Information from Medvedchuk allows Ukrainian society to see what the state policy was like before. This is a question not only of legal responsibility but also of moral responsibility. Because we saw an example of incredible political cynicism - when business issues were resolved under patriotic slogans, and even terrorists were financed. For the sake of a quick penny, Russia's influence on Ukraine was strengthened," Ivan Bakanov added.

We will remind that the detained SBU Medvedchuk told about schemes of withdrawal from the state property of a part of the main oil product pipeline for pumping through it diesel fuel and purchase of coal in temporarily occupied territories of Donbas.

Describing the essence of the schemes, Medvedchuk said that Poroshenko not only asked him to contact the Russian leadership, but also ensured that the necessary decisions were made in all Ukrainian instances.
