Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov, in a comment to the Financial Times, talked about the current situation of the aggressor state and the immediate priorities in the Russian-Ukrainian war.
According to him, the attempts by Russians to advance on the eastern front, ongoing since the fall of 2023, have not yielded any breakthrough.
"Their last attempt [to advance] has been going on for two months. Effectively, with no result," said the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
He also reported that the number of Russian losses on the front near Avdiivka has significantly increased in recent weeks.
Kyrylo Budanov expressed doubt about Moscow's ability to equivalently cover the losses of its troops and ammunition, even with the support of North Korea.
The head of the Ukrainian intelligence stressed the need to continue pressure on Russia, particularly in Crimea - launching air attacks, using naval drones for strikes, and conducting covert special operations.
"Our units [last year] repeatedly entered Crimea," Kyrylo Budanov reminded, adding that active actions by special forces will continue.
As explained by the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, one of the priorities of these missions is to disrupt the logistics of the Russian occupying army on the temporarily occupied peninsula.
