Admiral McRaven is an experienced and seasoned military leader who has participated in wars in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Persian Gulf. He played a key role in the planning and execution of various notable U.S. special operations, including the mission with the code name "Operation Neptune Spear" in 2011, which resulted in the elimination of Osama bin Laden.
William McRaven is the author of several books on the theory and practice of special operations, his experience in the U.S. military, leadership, and self-discipline. His book "Make Your Bed: Little Things That Can Change Your Life...And Maybe the World" became a New York Times bestseller and has been translated into multiple languages, including Ukrainian.
During the meeting, Lieutenant General Kyrylo Budanov and Admiral William McRaven discussed the current situation in the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine. They also exchanged thoughts on the state and prospects of regional and global security.
Admiral William McRaven expressed strong support for Ukraine and its people in their efforts to liberate temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories from Russians.
