Lviv athlete Natalia Morkvych has won two medals at the World Championships in wheelchair fencing in the Italian city of Terni.
As reported on Sunday, October 8th, by the Lviv City Council, the athlete won a bronze medal in individual competition in the rapier category and a silver medal in the team event in the sabre category.
Natalia Morkvych, 31 years old, is a grant recipient from the Lviv City Council. She, along with 26 other Lviv athletes, receives a monthly grant for preparation for the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris.
It's worth noting that Natalia Morkvych entered the world of Paralympic sports following a traffic accident in 2007, during which she lost a leg. She is a multiple-time medalist at the World Cup in wheelchair fencing, a European and World champion and medalist, and has won over a hundred awards in Ukrainian and international competitions.
