The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha, has ordered enhanced security measures following anonymous bomb threat letters received by over 600 foreign diplomatic missions, with the number continuing to rise.
The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry stated that diplomats are in close contact with law enforcement and local authorities to conduct security checks where necessary. In some cases, foreign diplomatic missions temporarily suspended consular services, which were promptly restored after checks were completed.
The ministry apologized for the inconvenience and assured that the safety of citizens is their top priority.
They emphasized that the wave of anonymous bomb threats has not impacted the operations of Ukraine's diplomatic system or foreign missions; activities continue as usual, and all assigned tasks are being fulfilled in full.
The Foreign Ministry is in contact with Ukrainian law enforcement and intelligence agencies, as well as foreign partners, to investigate the circumstances, motives behind the coordinated wave of threats, and identify the organizers, as stated in the announcement.
