The Russian military actively employs reconnaissance drones in the southern direction, attempting to compensate for the absence of long-range radar reconnaissance aircraft A-50.

This was reported by the spokesperson of the Armed Forces of Southern Ukraine, Colonel Natalia Humenyuk, during the United News telethon.

According to her, while there were over 200 reconnaissance drones in the area of responsibility of the Armed Forces of Southern Ukraine from Odessa to Zaporizhzhia the previous day, there were fewer drones today.

"But the enemy continues reconnaissance, and obviously, there is a need for him to compensate for the absence of the A-50 in the air," Natalia Humenyuk explained.

She noted that the enemy is gathering information for future strikes, both pinpoint and mass attacks.

"It is obvious that drone attacks will not stop because the enemy has stockpiles. In addition, there was recently a flight from Tehran, indicating that ready-made products like Shahed, and components, are actively in operation," added the spokesperson.

Natalia Humenyuk mentioned that from the debris of Shahed drones found recently, it was possible to establish that many drones are manufactured on the Russia's territory, as they are marked with letters of the Russian alphabet.
