The atypical concentration of drone strikes in the Kherson region near the front line can be explained by the Russia's desire to hinder the recovery of the region's agricultural enterprises.
This was explained by the head of the Unified Coordination Press Center of the Southern Defense Forces, Colonel Natalia Humeniuk, during a broadcast of the United News telethon.
"This time, the attack on Kherson was quite concentrated, which is not typical because it's a frontline area. However, understanding the peculiarities of the season, the enemy targeted the region's agricultural facilities, preventing them from fully recovering after the de-occupation," she noted.
For this purpose, the Russian forces continues to use both pinpoint missile strikes, terrorizing the civilian population, and mixed attack tactics.
For example, during the night, the occupiers attacked Ukrainian territory from the south using UAVs of the Shahed-136/131 type.
The defensive efforts against Russian attacks were successful. Air defense forces managed to destroy 14 drones: 7 in Kherson, 3 each in Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions, and 1 in Mykolaiv region.
