Russian forces have intensified the use of drones in southern Ukraine, with over 80 units recorded in a single day.
The head of the Unified Press Center of the Operational Command 'South,' Natalia Humenyuk, reported this during a briefing at the Ukraine-Ukrinform media center.
"The enemy continues its activity in the Right-Bank direction. The de-occupied territories in close proximity to the water suffer particularly from regular shelling and drone attacks. The enemy has significantly strengthened this component, deploying over 80 units per day in our area of responsibility alone. This is mainly in Kherson region, but also includes FPV drones and drones of other modifications, including reconnaissance and those capable of dropping fragmentation munitions, used from the Kinburn Spit towards the direction of Mykolaiv region on the opposite bank of the Dnipro-Bug Estuary," said Humenyuk.
According to the spokesperson, these actions by the Russian forces indicate intentions to disperse Defense Forces along the entire length of this part of the front. At the same time, the Defense Forces of the South continue to expand their foothold and destroyed over 100 Russian soldiers in a day.
"We continue the fight for positions on the left bank, expanding our footholds. Obviously, the occupiers fear this activity of ours, so they ... resumed their activity, and during the last combat day, they launched 8 assaults, but all of them were unsuccessful. The occupiers were forced to return to their positions with personnel losses. During the last day, we confirmed the elimination of 105 occupiers in our area of responsibility," Humenyuk reported, adding that there are also results regarding the destruction of the Russian equipment, including artillery installations.
