The Russian Federation targeted Ukrainian rescuers who were assisting in the aftermath of a previous shelling by occupiers in the suburbs of Kherson on Thursday, April 25.
According to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, during the day, Russian forces shelled the outskirts of Kherson, causing a residential building to catch fire. Rescue teams were dispatched to deal with the consequences of the shelling.
However, Russia used the treacherous tactic of a second shelling, attacking the site again and damaging the equipment of the State Emergency Service. One of the rescuers was injured, and a resident of a nearby house suffered a hand injury. They were able to leave the scene with the help of an ambulance.
"Despite the threat to their own lives, the rescuers warned their colleagues about the shelling to prevent them from being endangered. Unlike the enemy, who ruthlessly destroys everything in its path, our brave titans take care of their brethren," the statement said.
