In Tarasivka, Kyiv region, the fifth phase of “Hansen Village” was opened—a newly constructed multi-apartment building for families from frontline regions, a dormitory for evacuees, a space for IT academy students, and a recovery shelter for women who have survived the inhumane crimes of the Russian army. Almost 500 families from Kherson, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, and Sumy regions already live in the town.

This project is not just about housing. It is about restoring internal support, a sense of security, and the opportunity to rebuild one’s life. Such initiatives form the foundation for rebuilding communities, supporting people, and restoring hope.

“I remember Mr. Hansen’s visit to the Kyiv region in spring 2023. At that time, we first discussed with him the importance of constructing housing for people who lost their homes. Only eight months passed from that visit to the opening of the first completed phase of the residential complexes—by the end of the year, the first families from frontline territories moved into their new homes. This is the result of coordinated work and a high level of responsibility—I am grateful to Mr. Hansen for this,” said Oleksiy Kuleba.

Over two years, the Charity Hansen Ukrainian Mission Foundation scaled its project to Sofiivska Borshchahivka, Kolonshchyna, Moshchun, Andriivka, Buzova, and the Makariv community. This includes over 900 homes, housing about 4,000 internally displaced persons.

This summer, the Ministry of Development and the Charity Hansen Mission in Ukraine launched a new project—the construction of a new town in Hlevakha, Kyiv region. The design of the settlement is already nearing completion, and construction of 720 housing units will begin soon.

“It is also important to integrate state programmes into such philanthropic initiatives. For example, almost 130 families have already been able to purchase homes in the towns using e-Recovery certificates. I am grateful to Hansen for the joint work. This project shows that combining state instruments with partner support produces real results for people. Such collaboration creates new models of reconstruction and opportunities for those most affected by the war,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.
