Norway will allocate approximately 1.2 billion kroner to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.

This was announced by the Norwegian government press service.

The funds will be used to purchase relevant systems from the United States through the American JUMPSTART mechanism.

During the meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the 'Ramstein' format, Norwegian Defense Minister Tore Sandvik informed the Ukrainian delegation about this.

The funds are part of the 22.5 billion Norwegian kroner that Norway will spend on military support for Ukraine in 2025 through the Nansen Programme.

“Europe must do more for Ukraine, and Norway is stepping up. Air defense has long been Ukraine's highest military priority and is crucial for the protection of both military and civilian infrastructure and Ukraine's population. In 2024, Norway contributed over 6 billion kroner in air defense for Ukraine. The government has recently decided to spend an additional 1.2 billion kroner on air defense measures for Ukraine,” said Defense Minister Tore O. Sandvik.

Norway has also officially joined the international drone coalition for Ukraine.

In January, Ukraine's Defense Minister Rustem Umerov stated that Norway intends to continue investing in Ukraine's defense industry and joint projects, including ammunition production.
