The Russian forces has not ceased attempts to inflict maximum damage on the South. This includes Kherson and Mykolaiv, where the southern outskirts periodically suffer from drone attacks and shelling from Kinburn. This also applies to Odessa, which is being attacked with missile weapons.
This was reported at a press conference by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, Captain 3rd Rank Dmytro Pletenchuk.
According to the military, the Russian forces pursues objectives such as the destruction of infrastructure, locating and attempting to destroy the locations of military units.
"They have strengthened their aerial component, with their reconnaissance drones constantly appearing in the sky, which we destroy. They use at least 5 models of drones. Russian aviation is also present in the Black Sea area, including various types of aircraft, ranging from the latest models of Su, to MiGs, ANs, and even outdated BE-12s," noted Dmytro Pletenchuk.
As emphasized by the spokesperson for the Southern Defense Forces, in this way, the Russian forces seeks to compensate for the inability to access the sea. The aggressor uses the temporarily occupied territory of Crimea to strike Odessa region.
"We do not observe ships at sea. Two units that are maritime platforms, carriers of cruise missiles, have been withdrawn from the Azov-Black Sea region," added Dmytro Pletenchuk.
Regarding recent strikes by the Defense Forces against the Russian forces, including the search and rescue ship "Kommuna" in Sevastopol, this was far from accidental. Despite the age of the "Kommuna," it was a serious unit of the Russian fleet, serving submarines, supporting operations related to deep-sea work, and working at the site of the cruiser "Moskva" destruction.
Therefore, it is clear that strikes by Ukrainian defenders against Russian forces targets in Crimea and beyond will continue.
