The victory of Ukraine on the battlefield can disarm the Russian Federation, the expert noted.

Russia may lose its nuclear weapons if Ukraine wins on the battlefield. Military expert Oleg Zhdanov expressed this opinion.

"The military defeat of Russian troops on the battlefield can lead to a change in the leadership of the Russian Federation. And this new leadership will be framed by the fact that it will have to transfer weapons under the control of the IAEA, or under the control of some special commission its nuclear arsenal, possibly with subsequent disposal," he suggested. "Limiting Russia's ability to use nuclear weapons can only be achieved due to our military victory on the battlefield. This is the West's chance to more or less curb the Russian Federation."

As for Russia's ability to maintain a nuclear arsenal, according to Zhdanov, the Russians can do this "indefinitely":

"Unless there is a collapse of Russia, and as it was in Ukraine in 1991 … Hyperinflation began, and the question arose of how much money to maintain storage facilities, mobile missile technical bases."
