In Seoul, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Ukraine’s State Agency for Restoration and Infrastructure Development and the Construction Equipment Manufacturers Association of the Republic of Korea (KOCEMA). The document provides for the creation in Ukraine of a specialized training center to prepare operators of excavators, cranes, bulldozers and other heavy machinery.

The center will be equipped with modern simulators and equipment from Korea. This will allow Ukrainians to receive hands-on training to high standards and quickly build a professional workforce for rebuilding towns and villages.

“We are creating a training center for heavy machinery operators in Ukraine together with Korea. This will make it possible to train people on modern equipment and simulators to high standards, provide jobs for veterans, women and young people, and speed up the restoration of infrastructure in communities,” Oleksiy Kuleba noted.

The programmes envisage practical training of operators and technical personnel in line with international safety and operating standards. The center will prepare staff for work on residential, road and engineering projects.

The memorandum also provides for the participation of Korean manufacturers in reconstruction projects in Ukraine: supplying equipment, holding demonstrations, offering consulting support. Ukrainian and Korean experts will work on harmonizing technical standards, preparing recommendations for procurement and maintenance, as well as organizing professional courses and internships.

Special attention is given to the social aspect. Training programmes at the center will be open to veterans, women and young people, creating new opportunities for Ukrainians to join the country’s rebuilding effort and find employment in the modern construction sector.
