Yesterday's attack by Hamas militants on Israel suggests that the so-called "Israeli security model" is not suitable for post-war Ukraine. This opinion was expressed by former Ukrainian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Pavlo Klimkin.
"One conclusion from what is happening in Israel is already obvious to us. It is that the 'Israeli' security model does not suit us in our confrontation with Russia. And we must use this argument firmly and creatively with our NATO allies, primarily with the Americans," he stated on his Facebook page.
According to the diplomat, it is still necessary to understand why "crazy investments" in the Israeli security system did not work in this particular episode. Klimkin emphasized that conclusions should be drawn not only in Israel but also in Ukraine.
"Israel has things to teach us, and we should learn from them. However, basing our security model on theirs means constantly being in a state of danger. Therefore, there are no alternatives to NATO in today's reality," he stressed.
