Kyiv and Warsaw will jointly approach the G7 countries with a proposal to hold the International Ukraine Recovery Conference in Poland in 2026.
This was announced during a joint press conference in Warsaw by Polish Minister of Development and Technology Krzysztof Pączek, following the 10th meeting of the Ukrainian-Polish intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation with Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Oleksii Chernyshov.
As noted by the Polish official, Ukraine and Poland have agreed to "jointly approach the G7 countries with a request to organize the Ukraine Recovery Forum in 2026 with the participation of these countries."
He added that it would be a great opportunity for Polish companies to get involved in the recovery process of Ukraine.
Pączek mentioned that the exact date for the forum has yet to be determined, but according to the joint initiative of Kyiv and Warsaw, the forum is expected to take place in one of Poland's largest cities.
“We perceive this as a gesture of goodwill from our Ukrainian friends and as a great opportunity for the Polish economy and Polish businesses,” Pączek said.
For his part, Chernyshov emphasized that holding this conference in Poland is a significant matter, as Poland has done a lot to support Ukraine during the full-scale Russian aggression.
“I am confident that Polish companies should play a special and significant role in the recovery process of Ukraine. We invite Polish businesses to participate in this and do so now,” the Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister stressed.
It is known that this year's Ukraine Recovery Forum will take place on July 10-11 in Rome.
