During his visit to the United Kingdom, President Volodymyr Zelensky met with top executives from leading British defence companies.
The meeting was attended by UK Secretary of State for Defence John Healey, Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds, and representatives of ADS, UK Export Finance, BAE Systems, Thales UK, MBDA, KBR, and Babcock.
"I am grateful to the United Kingdom for your unwavering support of Ukraine. You were the first European country to provide Ukraine with lethal weapons, tanks, and long-range weapons. It was with the United Kingdom that we signed our first security agreement. I am pleased that we continue to deepen our cooperation in the defence sector," said Volodymyr Zelensky.
The President invited British defence companies to operate in the Ukrainian market and collaborate with domestic enterprises. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for joint production of ammunition, air defence systems, artillery, armoured vehicles, and drones, as well as the repair and maintenance of military equipment that the United Kingdom has supplied to Ukraine.
The President noted that Ukraine has significantly increased its own production of ammunition and weapons and is interested in international cooperation.
