Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with Pope Francis at the Vatican and gifted him a painting depicting the Bucha massacre.

According to Ansa, their meeting lasted about 35 minutes in the library hall, followed by a presentation of the Ukrainian delegation.

Zelensky stated that the main topic of the discussion was the return of Ukrainian citizens from Russian captivity. He expressed hope for the Holy See's assistance in facilitating the release of the prisoners.

The Pope presented Zelensky with a bronze bas-relief of a blossoming flower inscribed with "Peace is a fragile flower."

Zelensky, in return, gave the Pope an oil painting titled "Bucha Massacre: The Story of Marichka."
