During a working trip to New York, the USA, on September 21, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with Prime Minister of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern.
The parties touched on the issues of providing military aid to Ukraine and continuing sanctions pressure on russia. Moreover, the Head of the Ukrainian Government told about nuclear blackmail by russia at the Zaporizhzhia NPP, about numerous war crimes and atrocities by russia that were discovered in the de-occupied territories of Ukraine.
"Ukraine has proposed to set up a special international tribunal that would hold the russian leadership accountable for committing all these crimes and murders. This will be an effective mechanism in addition to the International Criminal Court. The special tribunal can continue to work on a permanent basis so that every potential aggressor knows that there is a tool that will make them respond for an unprovoked war, torturing people and destroying civilian infrastructure," urged the Head of the Government of Ukraine.
Denys Shmyhal stressed that Ukraine was looking for opportunities to end this war as soon as possible, but at the same time it must fight for its freedom and democracy. He thanked New Zealand for the comprehensive support of our country in this struggle and invited Jacinda Ardern to pay a visit to Ukraine.
