The German corporation Rheinmetall will supply Ukraine with new long-range projectiles.
The head of the corporation, Armin Papperger, announced that Rheinmetall will provide prototypes of projectiles with a range of 100 km.
Papperger dismisses the accusation that the German defense industry is currently working on tanks in a custom-made process instead of starting mass production. He argues that there simply are no larger orders to manufacture tanks on an assembly line.
The DAX corporation currently focuses, among other things, on the production of artillery ammunition.
"Artillery is the game-changer," says the Rheinmetall CEO with regard to the war in Ukraine.
This year, the Düsseldorf-based company will deliver "hundreds of thousands of rounds" to Ukraine. This includes prototypes of artillery shells with a range of 100 kilometers.
