In Odessa, the number of casualties due to yesterday's rocket strike has increased. Another employee of the State Emergency Service died in the hospital from severe injuries.
This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"Today (March 16), another State Emergency Service employee died in the hospital from severe injuries, another victim of yesterday's Russian strike on Odessa," said the head of the MIA, Igor Klymenko.
Currently, there are reports of 21 fatalities from yesterday's strike. Over 70 people have been injured, some of whom are in critical condition.
According to the State Emergency Service, a 39-year-old firefighter driver, Vitaliy Alimov, died in the hospital. He suffered serious injuries from the second strike.
"Medics did everything they could, but they couldn't save our colleague," the State Emergency Service added.
Russian forces attacked Odessa with ballistic missiles "Iskander-M," which were launched from the temporarily occupied Crimea. The target of the Russian terrorists was civilian infrastructure. After the arrival of medics and rescuers at the scene, the Russians launched a second strike. Initially, there were reports of dozens of casualties, as well as fatalities.
As a result of the shelling, a three-story building of a recreational facility was destroyed, at least 10 private houses were damaged, a service station, a low-pressure gas pipeline, ambulances, and fire rescue vehicles were also damaged.
