Russian railway wheels continue to enter the markets of European Union countries despite the rest of the sanctions. Due to significantly lower energy prices, Russians are able to engage in dumping practices and supply railway products at prices much lower than those of Ukrainian products.
As reported by CTS, the director of the railway products division at Interpipe, Oleksandr Harkavyi, discussed this in an interview.
"It's indeed paradoxical because the EU has imposed sanctions on almost all metal products of Russian origin. But railway wheels and wheel sets strangely managed to avoid this participation," noted the top manager.
"At the same time, no European producers are against sanctions. However, no one is showing initiative to remove Russian products from the market, especially since they are arriving at dumping prices," emphasized Oleksandr Harkavyi.
